There are plenty of various strategies and approaches to losing weight, but still it is hardly possible to find a more effective one than a simple combination of a low calorie diet and physical exercises. Using these two components of a weight loss program is a key to getting rid of extra kilos and improve own body shape. Being fit is a dream of many modern men and women, and it is very important to follow a healthy diet and lead a healthy lifestyle. Both components are equally important. Though some experts believe that those women who are trying to lose weight should pay a little more attention to their daily diet and watch carefully what they eat, but those men who want to reduce their body mass should be more focused on doing regular exercises.
In anyway, most of those who are trying to lose weight are looking for an answer to the question, how long should their daily workouts last? Scientists are trying to give answer to this question, and according to the latest findings, it is recommended to have 30 minutes of moderate or intensive exercise is the best approach, and it can help achieve better results than regular 1 hour daily workouts. lose weightThose are the conclusions of an extended study conducted by a group of Danish researchers. They reported that the participants of the experiment who were asked to have shorter 30-minute daily workouts managed to demonstrate much better results and lose more weight comparing to those participants who were assigned to have a full 1-hour workout on a daily basis.
For the experiment, 60 healthy male participants were invited, all of them had extra weight and all were ready to go through some sessions of moderate daily workouts. The activities included cycling, jogging, cross training, and other similar activities. The experiment lasted for 13 weeks, and the results of the group involved in 30-minute moderate daily workouts were much better. The participants from this group managed to lose weight more effectively. It was quite surprising for the researchers, and they tried to find an answer to the question, why shorter workouts were linked to better results. After analyzing some additional information, the scientists came up with an interesting explanation.
“The subjects in the test group that exercised the least talk about increased energy levels and a higher motivation for exercising and pursuing a healthy everyday life,” said Dr Astrid Jespersen, one of the study leaders from Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim and the author of the report published earlier this month in the journal Scandinavian Journal of Public Health. In contrast to those, the participants from the group of 1-hour daily workouts reported feeling exhausted and depressed because they were assigned to lasting workouts. According to the report, the members of the 30-minute workout group managed to lose 7.9 lbs on average (for the period of 13 weeks), and those who exercised for 1 hour lost only 6 lbs on average. The scientists say that it is possible to break 30-minute daily workouts in 2-3 parts.

Your Inner Clock Depends on Your Liver
A study conducted by Professor Chris Liddle from the Westmead Millennium Institute for Medical Research has shown that the liver controls our biorhythms.
In fact, there are receptors in the liver to regulate fat metabolism, energy transfer, and the production of hormones that affect the sleep, appetite and alertness. Failure of circadian rhythms provokes the development of obesity, diabetes and other metabolic disorders. Since the receptors in the liver “tune in” the internal clock, they can be used to influence circadian rhythms. This mechanism can be used to treat biorhythmic disorders.
Previously, scientists had demonstrated the role of the biological clock in the regenerative capacity of skin stem cells. Violation of this rhythm, as the study found, leads to premature aging of tissues, increased risk of skin tumors. Meanwhile, a correct and timely recovery of the biological clock increases the long-term regenerative capacity of the tissue and reduces the likelihood of tumors.

Orange Juice Is A Great Natural Protection For Cancer
In our times, people are very much concerned about their health, and most if us are trying to do everything possible to reduce our risks for such serious diseases like heart attack, a stroke, cancer, autoimmune diseases, and so on. We try to watch our daily diet and use various foods with excellent natural protective qualities. Those include mainly the foods rich in natural antioxidants and fatty acids, but also organic fruits and vegetables rich in minerals, vitamins, and natural essential nutrients. Numerous studies have proven the effectiveness of consuming broccoli, green tea, cocoa beans, or tomatoes as very effective natural protection for numerous types of cancer. According to the latest findings, organic orange juice can also be added to the list of antioxidant rich foods.
The report about this new related study was recently published in the journal Nutrition and Cancer. The scientists recommend drinking 1 glass of orange juice (freshly squeezed) on a daily basis. After studying chemical content of organic orange juice, the researchers came to the conclusion that this natural product is rich in numerous natural antioxidants, including such ones as naringinin, hesperitin, and other flavonoids. During the study they managed to find scientific evidence to the fact that oranges and especially orange juice have excellent antigenotoxic, antimutagenic, hormonal, cytoprotective, and cell modulating effects. However, these qualities depend on the environment and conditions of cultivating oranges to be used for juice, including the factors like climate, type of soils, watering routine, and so on.
Therefore, the researchers are convinced that this natural product can play a role of an effective natural protection against many types of cancer, including the most common ones. “Among the most relevant biological effects of Orange juice is the juice’s antigenotoxic and antimutagenic potential, which was shown in cells in culture and in rodents and humans,” it is stated in the report. At the same time, a lot is said in the report about possible side effects of using organic orange juice on a daily basis, both for adults and kids. The scientists admit that this natural product has certain toxicity, and using too much of this juice can cause quite serious unwanted effects, including not only allergic reactions, but also problems with kidneys, cardiovascular system function, and even increased risks for type 2 diabetes.
It is stated in the report that lab studies of the effects of orange juice have proven very good effectiveness of this natural product for reducing the risks of leukemia in small children. Besides, the scientists recommend using this juice for preventing and reducing the risks for colon cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and some other common types of this terrible disease. At the same time, the researchers underline the importance of further studies and further research as to looking closer at the effects of orange juice on regulating cancer-prevention mechanisms in human body. In particular, they are willing to continue their work on learning more about biological links between orange juice and reduced risks of cancer.

Fitness Leads to Early Menopause
Going in for sports has a general positive effect on the body. However, the women, who are very actively involved in fitness and keep to a diet, can overdo it and trigger the appearance of early menopause symptoms.
This is the warning that women could hear from the Japanese scientists. For 10 years, they had been observing 3,100 women, who had not had menopause by the beginning of the study. When the experts analyzed the results, it turned out that the participants, who were involved in sports for 8-10 hours a week, were 17 % more likely to join the group of the women with menopausal symptoms in comparison with those, who were leading a less active lifestyle.
In addition, early menopause is often manifested in the women, who consume polyunsaturated fats, found in fish and plant foods. According to the specialists, health food fans have 15% higher risk of an earlier menopause in comparison with the women, whose diet does not include an abundance of such products.
The women, who are actively involved in sports and eat healthy food, experience less impact of the estrogen hormone on the body. It helps scientists explain the phenomenon of healthy lifestyle influence on the onset of menopause. However, experts point out that the link between physical activity and women’s health does not mean that one is a direct cause of the other. In their strong opinion, sports and proper nutrition in any case bring a woman’s body more benefit than harm.

Interesting Sleep Facts
The U.S. National Sleep Foundation has conducted the first-ever global study on how the representatives of various countries and peoples sleep. It turned out that the British are more likely to sleep naked, and the Japanese change their sheets every three weeks.
The Bedroom Poll research studied the sleeping habits of the citizens of the United States, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Germany, and Japan. It turned out that every third Briton sleeps naked and half of the Japanese and Americans fall asleep whenever they have an opportunity because they do not get enough sleep at night.
The researchers interviewed 1,500 people aged 25 to 55 years. The people in the United States and Japan sleep least of all (on average, 6 hours and 22 minutes). Two-thirds of the Japanese people sleep less than 7 hours. As for other nationalities, 53% of the Americans, 39% of the Britons, and 36% of the Germans sleep less than 7 hours. Little sleep is observed in only a third of the Canadians and 29% of the Mexicans. Fortunately, 45% of the respondents, or almost a half of them, believe that they get good sleep every night (or almost every night). At the same time, 27% of the Britons sometimes do not get enough sleep, and 11% do not manage to sleep properly.
Other interesting cultural differences between countries have been revealed. 62% of the Mexicans and 47% of the Americans pray or meditate before going to bed, and 40% of the Britons drink something soothing (tea, for example) instead of praying. Most often, the respondents watch television before going to bed. It is interesting that 80% (!) have watched boxing at least once before going to bed.
The Japanese like to sleep on one pillow and change the sheets less often than the other nationalities. The Germans and Canadians are more likely to air the bedroom at least once a week (almost 100 % of the Germans, who have taken part in the survey, do this). All the respondents agreed that the quality of sleep depended largely on the smell in the bedroom.

providing tax incentives to promote investment
providing tax incentives to promote investment
The cost-effectiveness of providing tax incentives to promote investment is generally questionable. The best strategy for sustained investment promotion is to provide a stable and transparent legal and regulatory framework and to put in place a tax system in line with international norms. Some objectives, such as those that encourage regional development, are more justifiable than others as a basis for granting tax incentives. Not all tax incentives are equally effective. Accelerated depreciation has the most comparative merits, followed by investment allowances or tax credits. Tax holidays and investment subsidies are among the least meritorious. As a general rule, indirect tax incentives should be avoided, and discretion in granting incentives should be minimized.

Tax Policy for Developing Countries
Tax Policy for Developing Countries
Why do we have taxes? The simple answer is that, until someone comes up with a better idea, taxation is the only practical means of raising the revenue to finance government spending on the goods and services that most of us demand. Setting up an efficient and fair tax system is, however, far from simple, particularly for developing countries that want to become integrated in the international economy. The ideal tax system in these countries should raise essential revenue without excessive government borrowing, and should do so without discouraging economic activity and without deviating too much from tax systems in other countries.
Developing countries face formidable challenges when they attempt to establish efficient tax systems. First, most workers in these countries are typically employed in agriculture or in small, informal enterprises. As they are seldom paid a regular, fixed wage, their earnings fluctuate, and many are paid in cash, "off the books." The base for an income tax is therefore hard to calculate. Nor do workers in these countries typically spend their earnings in large stores that keep accurate records of sales and inventories. As a result, modern means of raising revenue, such as income taxes and consumer taxes, play a diminished role in these economies, and the possibility that the government will achieve high tax levels is virtually excluded.

Staying at Grandparents' Makes Kids Overweight
One in three children left at grandparents’ earns obesity.
Experts from the UK conducted a survey in 9 thousand families and noted that the older generation’s desire to feed the children to satiety leads to child health problems.
Very often, older people do not know whether the foods are good for the child. This is one of the factors why the percentage of overweight children under grandparents’ care was 26.2% , whereas in the group of those who lived with their parents – 22.9 %.
Thus, if grandparents raise a child, it increases the risk of childhood obesity by 31%. By the way, if you feed a child by force, it may also lead to excessive weight.
